Race Recap: A1A Ft. Lauderdale Marathon
May 12, 2025
From Darkness into the Florida Sun

It may not be the biggest race, nor the race with the best temperatures to PR, but it does have the Atlantic Ocean near the finish line, and that's something.
Though the temperature was a comfortable 73 degrees at race time, runners know that's way too hot for running. Topping off that day around 86 degrees, a refreshing dip in the chilly Atlantic Ocean was the perfect ending to a warmer-than-most race day.
This race was special because I had run the half marathon distance a decade earlier when living in South Florida. Still having local friends nearby, it was a perfect opportunity to enjoy some sun in the dead of Winter and spend time with dear friends afterwards.
